The Girls' Brigade
We have started this session with quite a few new girls which is very encouraging. We would however, like to try to get as many new members as possible and after such a successful summer mission, we know that there are girls out there who are happy to come into our church to join in fun and fellowship. We would ask you to remind your neighbours, friends, daughters, nieces etc. that we meet on Tuesdays in the hall from 6.30-8pm and the girls would receive a warm welcome by all of us.
We started the session with a chilly, but enjoyable beach BBQ, and we are holding a beetle drive fundraiser on 25th Oct at 6.45pm. For those of you who. have never been to one, the night is fun for all ages. The game is played with pen, paper and a die and is entirely based on random die rolls, there is no element of skill involved.
We would love to see you there

Sunday School is on holiday during the "Tattie Holidays" returning on Sunday 16th October.  On our return we will be looking at Harvest and then on 23rd October our older youngsters in the Steeple Group will help lead the Harvest Thanksgiving Service.
The children/young people are asked to bring tinned and dried foods to the Harvest Thanksgiving Service which will then be made into parcels and donated to the Homeless.

Blythswood shoeboxes.
Montrose is NOT being used this year as a sorting centre, but this should not detract from the efforts of the churches in making up Blythswood shoeboxes.  The only difference being that instead of delivering them to the United Free church halls, that they be delivered to the Blythswood lorry that comes to Somerfield car park in Montrose, on Tuesday 11th Oct, Tuesday 8th Nov and Tuesday 13th Dec. Hall Keeper
We are without a hall keeper at present. Duties include general caretaking duties including preparing and clearing the Halls for use by different organisations. Hours are variable but will not exceed 10 hours per week. Some Saturday work required. Payment at the minimum hourly rate. I would like to thank all organisations for their help and understanding in preparing the halls for meetings etc. at this time. Peter Strachan
